San Diego Soccer Club’s Board President, Sally Grigoriev, was recently honored at the annual ’Hats Off to Volunteers’ event in Rancho Bernardo. Her contributions to the local soccer community were recognized at this event. SDSC nominated her for her endless hours of volunteering for the club. She has made a huge impact across SDSC’s operations, whether driving a merger, negatiating uniforms, or advocating for our club and families at all levels of local government.
Brian Quinn, longtime Coach and current Director of Boys Younger soccer, had this to say about Sally’s contributions to the club and community. "Sally has been the glue that held together the merger between Rancho Bernardo Renegades and Pegasus FC in 2006, then later in 2010 for the merger between PQYSA, RBYSA, PQ Premier, and FC San Diego. She was instrumental in bringing a ’one stop for all’ place for soccer to the North County corridor and beyond. Her leadership through participation on the board and on numerous local committees has fostered the growth of the sport as well as opened up new opportunities for the players in this community. No task has been too big or small - she has drafted budgets, coordinated schedules, lined fields, ran tryouts, written grant proposals, and provided hands-on assistance at our tournaments and other events. I am honored to have had the opportunity to work with Sally."
Congratulations on a well deserved award! Please extend your own congratulations to her when you see her on the fields.
