SDSC Coach Mike “Nico” Nicholson will be running a summer fitness and skills program for our 2001-2005 players. Nico brings his years of experience coaching men’s soccer at University of San Diego to SDSC to help prepare these players to prepare both physically and technically for the upcoming season.
This program is set up over a 3 week period (10 total sessions) to give the soccer player an opportunity to enhance their athletic ability by covering the components of fitness such as endurance, speed, strength and agility. The sessions will comprise continuous running (endurance), interval training (speed-endurance), cross-fit exercises (strength endurance) and plyometrics (speed-strength). Each session will also incorporate technical ball work under various levels of fatigue to improve the players control and passing play.

July: 1, 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, 17
First session (birth years 2004-2005): 8:30-10:00am
Second session (birth years 2001-2003): 10:00-11:30am
